Pakistani actress to play Mohanlal's heroine? actress all set to make her debut in Malayalam through Empuran; new update

New details are coming out from the sets of the much anticipated Mohanlal-Prithviraj movie Empuraan. Recent reports are claiming that Pakistani actress Mahira Khan will play the lead role in the film. Mahira was the heroine in the Bollywood film 'Raees', which starred Shah Rukh Khan.

Mahira Khan, who works in Urdu films and television, entered Indian cinema through Raees. With Mahira onboard, 'Empuraan' will be the first Malayalam film to star a Pakistani actress. Empuraan is currently on a schedule break. According to sources, Mahira has acted in the Ladakh schedule of the film. The actress will also take part in the US schedule, which will begin in January. The set construction works of the next schedule have begun.

Empuraan will also have Manju Warrier, Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith and Saniya Iyyappan playing important roles. The film, written by Murali Gopi, is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas. Sujith Vasudev is handling the cinematography.
