HYDERABAD: The results of the exit polls released the other day indicate that this election will be a blow to the BRS hoping to regain power in Telangana. Most exit polls expect the Congress to win more than an absolute majority of 60 seats. With this, the confidence of Congress in the state has increased in a big way. After the exit polls came in favour, reports said the Congress high command has given some special instructions to the state leadership.

The horse-trading of MLAs, which has been a setback for the Congress in many states in the past, is likely to be active in Telangana. In this situation, the Congress may shift their MLAs to a resort in Bengaluru or to other Congress-ruled states, reported The Times of India.

If there is a hung assembly in the state, it is essential to keep the MLAs together. In this situation, the leadership think that it is appropriate to shift the MLAs to the resort.
A senior Congress leader told The Times of India that if the Congress gets less than 70 seats when the election results are declared on December 3, the MLAs will be shifted to the resort together.

Congress confident
State chief Revanth Reddy is confident that the Congress will come to power with a two-thirds majority in the state. ‘Exit polls are predicting that the Congress will get a massive victory in the state this time. Congress will win 80 seats. The congress working committee will decide who the chief minister will be. The Congress has its own processes for everything. As PCC president, I will obey what the high command says,’ said Revanth Reddy.

DK to play key role
The Congress has appointed two coordinators in the constituency of the likely candidates. It is the responsibility of the coordinators to shift the winning candidates to the unknown places after receiving the certificates from the electoral officers. Later, the MLAs will be shifted to the resort in Bengaluru under tight security.

Quoting Congress sources, News 18 reports that deputy chief minister and senior leader D K Shivakumar, who played an important role in the Congress's victory in Karnataka, will play a crucial role in the shifting of MLAs. Shivakumar has successfully handled a similar situation faced by the Congress and the Janata Dal (S) during the 2018 trust vote in the Karnataka Assembly.
