abduction-case

KOLLAM: KR Padmakumar, a resident of Chathannoor in police custody in connection with the abduction of a six-year-old girl from Oyur, stated that it was done over enmity with the child's father. Padmakumar said he paid Rs 5 lakh to Reji for his daughter's nursing admission but to no avail. He further alleged that the money was not returned.

In his statement to cops, Padmakumar said he went behind Reji for a year to get the money back. Padmakumar says that the child was abducted in a feud. He also revealed that his wife and daughter are not involved in the case.

It is reported that the six-year-old girl was accommodated in Padmakumar's farmhouse at Chirakkara. Padmakumar also testified that the aim was to put pressure on Reji and his family by kidnapping the child.

Three persons were taken into custody from Thenkasi's Puliyarai in Tamil Nadu at 2.30 pm today. The accused have been brought to the Adoor AR camp and are being interrogated.
