KANNUR: AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal alleged that people expected the problems to be resolved when the ministers arrived at Navakerala Sadas, but they are being treated with contempt as second-class citizens. He was inaugurating the state level of UDF's Vicharana Sadas at Mambaram in Dharmadam constituency.
The Chief Minister and Ministers are meeting only the gentlemen in person. The reason for the increase in complaints in Navakerala Sadas is the seven years of LDF rule. There is no need for the Ministers to travel so that people complain to officials. This is a PR scam done at the expense of the government before the parliamentary elections. Chief Minister violated his oath in the reappointment of Kannur University Vice-Chancellor. The governor also adopted an anti-democratic approach. Venugopal also said that the Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister are not entitled to continue in their positions.
The public distribution system in the state is in disarray. Prices of essential goods are soaring. Neither the KSRTC employees nor the Kudumbashree hotel operators are getting paid. Farmer suicides are also on the rise. They are not even paying the price of the farmers' production. The state is suffering from the fate of unbridled borrowing.
Through Vicharana Sadas UDF is expressing a sentiment that resonates with the public. He said that a series of massive protests will be started across the state from today under the leadership of UDF.
UDF District Chairman PT Mathew presided. Convener NP Tahir, DCC President Martin George, Muslim League District President Abdul Kareem Chelery, Sunny Joseph MLA, Sajeev Joseph MLA, CA Ajeer and others participated.
