THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: This year's PG National Award of PG Sanskriti Kendra will be presented to eminent writer and social activist Arundhati Roy. The award consists of Rs 3 lakh and a citation.
The winner was selected by a jury consisting of MA Baby (Chairman), KR Meera and Shabnam Hashmi. V Joy MLA, Executive Director of PG Sanskriti Kendra, informed that N Ram, Director of The Hindu Publishing Group, will present the award at the conference to be held at Ayyankali Hall on December 13 at 3 pm.
The jury considered that Arundhati Roy, who stands firm in her brave stand and constantly works, writes and speaks for humanitarian values, is the most deserving of the PG award.
This is the third PG award. The first one was given to prominent lawyer Prashant Bhushan and the second one to renowned media person N Ram. PG Sanskriti Kendra was started in 2019 in memory of Marxist thinker, writer and orator P Govinda Pillai.
