Many questions remain to be answered; only three accused in Oyoor kidnap case says police

KOLLAM: In the case of the abduction of the six-year-old girl from Oyoor, the police are firm in their argument that there are only three accused. An application will be made tomorrow to take the accused into custody. The police have also moved to check all the financial transactions of the accused. The police need to find answers to many more questions from them and hence they planning to take the accused into custody and interrogate them for this. An application will be filed in the Kottarakkara court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in the kidnapping case, the accused were charged with sections that may grant them even life imprisonment. In the case, charges of kidnapping, illegal confinement and bodily injury have been charged against the accused. Sections under the Juvenile Justice Act were also imposed. All three accused in the case were remanded till the 15th of this month.

KR Padmakumar (52), his wife MR Anithakumari (45) and daughter P Anupama (20) of Chatthannur Mampallikkam Kavitharaj were remanded. Padmakumar will be shifted to the Kottarakkara sub-jail, while Anithakumari and Anupama will be shifted to Attakulangara women's sub-jail, Thiruvananthapuram.
