Kalamassery blast: Idukki native woman dies during treatment, death toll rises to eight

KOCHI: One more person who was undergoing treatment after being injured in the Kalamassery blast has died. The deceased has been identified as Lilly John, a native of Idukki. With this, death toll has increased to 8. Lilly's husband John, who was treated for burns in the explosion, died last Saturday.

The explosion took place at the Kalamassery Samra Convention Centre during a Jehovah's Witnesses convention on October 29. Six other people, including three members of a family, had already died in the blast. Kumari, a native of Thodupuzha, Leona Poulose, a native of Perumbavoor Kurupampadi, Molly, a native of Kalamassery, Sally, a native of Malayattoor, her daughter Libna, and son Praveen are the deceased. Dominic Martin, who was arrested in the case, is currently in remand.
