NEW DELHI: Vishnu Deo Sai, a tribal representative, will take charge as Chhattisgarh Chief Minister. The decision was taken at today's party meeting in Raipur. BJP central observers Sarbananda Sonowal and Arjun Munda attended today's meeting. Vishnu Deo Sai was a former MP and central minister.
Vishnu Deo Sai won the assembly election from Kunkuri. He was the state president of BJP from 2020 to 2022. He contested from Raigarh constituency in 1994, 2004, 2009 and 2014 and won consecutively. In 1990 and 1993, he contested and won assembly elections from Tapkara constituency in Madhya Pradesh. He won against sitting Congress MLA UD Minj in this years election. Sai comes from the Sahu (Teli) community which is very influential.
