THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Members of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy are alleging that Ranjith, the chairman of the Chalachitra Academy, was taking decisions single-handedly and was not consulting them in making decisions. The members had held a secret meeting at Tagore Theatre in this regard.
The Chalachitra Academy members held the parallel meeting against Ranjith this afternoon. Nine members, including Kukku Parameshwaran and Manoj Kana, participated in the meeting. There are 15 members in the Academy. The main demand of the members is that Ranjith should be removed from the post of Academy Chairman.
Responding to the allegations, Ranjith said that he was not making decisions on his own and was willing to resign from the post if the government asked him not to continue.
"We have a Department of Cultural Affairs, which has a minister. Above that, we have a Chief Minister. If the members have complained to the government, the concerned authorities will check it. If they are aware of the importance of the complaint, they will definitely contact me," Ranjith said.
"If they say that I do not deserve to continue in the position, I am ready to step down at that moment. Everything is a new experience. One should ask others whether Ranjith is taking decisions single-handedly. If they say that they are having trouble with Ranjith's approach, then the government will understand the grievance of the members," he added.
