ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan came out in support of Anil Kumar, the gunman who beat up Youth Congress workers in Alappuzha. He told the media in Alappuzha that he did not see the gunman beating the protesters.

"I saw uniformed policemen stopping them. They tried to push the protestors away. I did not see the gunman beating the protesters. The bodyguards are working to ensure that no accident happens to me," CM Vijayan said.

The Chief Minister also asked whether it is right to hold a 'jump-and-fall' strike while we are working for the state. The Chief Minister also criticized the media. "The media will say they will do good for the state. But they won't. They are turning a blind eye," he added.

The Chief Minister's gunman jumped out of the vehicle and beat up a KSU worker. Youth Congress has decided to continue the black flag protest against the Chief Minister.
