Hotel owner hacked in Varkala over quantity of chicken curry served

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A hotel owner was hacked over the low quantity of chicken curry served. The incident happened at Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram early Monday morning at 1:30 am. Naushad (46), a resident of Varkala Reghunathapuram sustained injuries on his head.


Naushad was attacked over the low quantity of chicken curry served at his hotel when a group came to have food. It is indicated that the residents of Varkala Thannimudu are behind the act. Naushad sought treatment at a private hospital in Varkala.


The police had seized the two-wheelers of the attackers. The police informed that the search for the accused has been intensified.


There was news that a youth had attacked the hotel owner and his family in Adimali a few weeks ago. A youth who came to have food at the hotel in Kambilikandam was behind the attack. The police said that he attacked them after the owner asked the money of the food eaten on the previous day. They were attacked using an iron rod and a knife. Kaleekkal Rahul Raj (36), the owner of Ruchi Hotel at Nedumkandam Manjapara, his father Rajan Pillai (66) and Rahul's father-in-law Ravi (56) were injured.
