THRISSUR: Several SFI-DYFI activists vandalized a police jeep during a jubilant demonstration after the SFI won the election at Govt ITI in Chalakudy. DYFI leader Nidhin Pullen, who was subsequently taken into custody by the police, was released by force under the leadership of the CPM area secretary.

The incident took place after the SFI won the elections at Chalakudy ITI. While returning after the victory celebrations, the SFI-DYFI activists smashed the windshield of the police jeep. The activists climbed on top of the jeep and unleashed violence while the policemen were in the jeep. They also threatened the policemen in the jeep.

The activists unleashed violence under the leadership of Chalakudy DYFI leader Nidhin Pullen. Following the incident, the police came to the college and took Nidhin into custody. The other day, the police had asked the SFI activists to remove the flags and banners from the campus ahead of the election. This is said to have provoked the SFI and DYFI activists.
