Massive planning behind trader’s murder in Mylapra; Hard disk missing, special team to probe

murder

PATHANAMTHITTA: A special team has been formed to investigate the murder of an aged trader in Mylapra. A special team was formed under the supervision of SP. The preliminary investigation also revealed that a major plan was hatched to commit the murder.

It was found that the hard disk of the shop's CCTV was missing on police investigation. It is suspected to be a murder during an attempted robbery. The police are investigating the CCTV footage. The dead is George Unnunni (72), a native of Mylapra and a businessman.

The murder happened at George's Puduvelil Stores, a stationary shop at Mylapra Post Office Junction. When his grandson came to take George home at around 5:30 in the evening, found the body lying with his hands and feet tied and a cloth stuffed in his mouth. The initial conclusion of Pathanamthitta police is that he was strangled to death. The gang stole a chain of six sovereigns and money from the shop.

The shop is in George's own building on the Punalur-Muvattupuzha road. A plastic sheet was tied in front of the shop as a cover from the sun. It is believed that the robbery team came after understanding the situation that the people in the shop could not be known immediately.
