NEW DELHI: Kuno National Park (KNP) welcomed new members to its wildlife sanctuary after Namibian Cheetah Aasha gave birth to three cubs at the Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh. Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav shared the footage of the cheetah cubs on social media. Bhupendra Yadav added that this was the success of the Cheetah project envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bhupendra Yadav and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated all the officials involved in the project.

"Purrs in the wild! Thrilled to share that Kuno National Park has welcomed three new members. The cubs have been born to Namibian Cheetah Aasha. This is a roaring success for Project Cheetah, envisioned by PM Narendra Modi ji to restore ecological balance," Bhupender Yadav wrote on X.

Earlier, some of the cheetahs brought to Kuno National Park as part of the Project Cheetah had died. Following this, several people raised criticism against the project. However, the Supreme Court clarified that the central government cannot be blamed for the death of cheetahs. Nine cheetahs, including three cheetah cubs born in India, had died.
