PATHANAMTHITTA: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar on Friday slammed the Devaswom Board officials for not providing a microphone announcement system to KSRTC to give necessary instructions to pilgrims. Ganesh Kumar, who asked the Devaswom Board officials to make the necessary arrangements soon by providing a microphone system, also warned that the Devaswom Board would be held accountable if they failed to comply. The minister raised the criticism during the discussion held in the presence of ADGP Sreejith and KU Jenish Kumar MLA.
'KSRTC will make necessary announcements if you provide them with the microphone. Announcements will not be made at the expense of KSRTC. I will call the Devaswom Board President. You rent a mic and give it to KSRTC. Do you want only note-counting machines? KSRTC employees are ready to make announcements for the pilgrims. But you are not even ready to provide a mic even on rent. This is unacceptable. I am not asking you to buy them a new microphone system. If the pilgrims suffer because of a lack of announcements, the Devaswom Board will be held responsible," Ganesh Kumar said.
Ganesh Kumar also said that officials have to follow the instructions of the honourable minister.
"Officials must give priority to the instructions of the ministers and not the board. You must urgently provide the microphone system. If there is a heavy rush and KSRTC is unable to provide information to the pilgrims as per the instructions of the police, it will be a big problem," he said.
