Theft of 81 lakh rupees in six months, complaint against beverages employee

PATHANAMTHITTA: An employee at Beverages Corporation in Koodal, Pathanamthitta allegedly embezzled Rs 81 lakh. The retail store manager filed a complaint leading to Koodal police registering a case against Aravind, an LD clerk from Kollam Sooranad. Aravind is accused of siphoning off the hefty amount over six months starting from June 2023 discovered when a portion of the money meant for the bank went missing. His prolonged absence from work raised suspicion.

Simultaneously, in another incident involving Idukki Bison Valley Beverages Corporation, employee Adimali Mannamkandam native PN Saji from Muvattupuzha faced legal consequences. Saji was sentenced by the Vigilance Court to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 1 lakh for falsifying Rs 2,29,300. Saji reportedly manipulated the shop's income without depositing the full amount in the bank. The verdict was issued last October.
