LDF to observe hartal today in Idukki

THODUPUZHA: The LDF will observe a hartal today in Idukki district to protest against the Governor's non-signing of the land assignment law amendment bill passed by the state assembly. The hartal is from 6 am to 6 pm. LDF will also conduct a march to Raj Bhavan today on the same issue.

Meanwhile, the police have made massive security arrangements in and around Thodupuzha taking into account intelligence reports that there will be protests and conflict when the Governor arrives in the district today to participate in the program of the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES). Ahead of the hartal, the Governor's effigy was burnt at various places in the district under the leadership of the CPM on Monday. A demonstration will be held in Thodupuzha this morning.
