CPM releases manifesto, promises include reduction in fuel prices and panel to oversee governor

NEW DELHI: Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, CPM has released its manifesto. Among their main promises are to reduce fuel prices, curb inflation, repeal CAA and give 50 percent of central taxes to states. The manifesto was released by CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and PB members.

Promises:

  • Will block the governor's move to impose central policies at state expense.
  • 6% of GDP will be allocated for education.
  • States' federal rights will be restored.
  • Reservations will be made in the private sector in the same manner as in the government sector.
  • Caste census will be implemented.
  • Government funds will be included for parties in elections.
  • Corporate donation will be prohibited.
  • Will bring laws against hate crimes.
  • The UAPA and the Money Laundering Act are barbaric.
  • Will try to beat BJP and NDA allies.
  • The strength of CPM and Left will be increased.
  • A secular government will be brought at the Centre.
  • Guaranteed wages will be doubled.
  • The statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored and elections will be held.
