PM Modi to attend Suresh Gopi's daughter's wedding on 17th Jan; Guruvayur darshan timings likely to change

GURUVAYUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Guruvayur on 17th January at around 8.30 am specially to attend the wedding of Bhagya Suresh, daughter of former MP Suresh Gopi. From Kochi, the Prime Minister will land at the Sri Krishna College ground by helicopter and will reach Sreevalsam Guest House by car.

After getting darshan from the temple, the bride-groom pair will reach the wedding hall in east Nada in the temple for the wedding ritual. Suresh Gopi is willing to arrange a special caravan for PM Modi to refresh and change his attire after reaching Guruvayur. However, the move has still not received a green signal from the Prime Minister's security wing.

After participating in the wedding ceremony in front of the temple, the Prime Minister will go to Kochi. DIG Ajita Begum and City Police Commissioner Ankit Asokan have started the police security checks. Special Protection Group will come on the 12th to examine the Temple premises.

On the 17th, 64 marriages have been scheduled in the Guruvayur temple. The number of marriages may rise further. Marriages start at five in the morning. Suresh Gopi's daughter's marriage is scheduled between 8.45 am and 9.15 am. Security Control will be tightened at the wedding hall from seven to nine in the morning. The Devaswom and the police are working on ways to conduct all 11 marriages scheduled at this hour without delay.

Devotees will be kept out of the temple for at least an hour before the arrival of the Prime Minister. Before attending the wedding, PM Modi will have a darshan at the temple.
