covid-

BEIJING: It is reported that since the beginning of 2024, there has been a decrease in the number of people seeking treatment for flu in China. However, the Chinese authorities also informed yesterday that there is a possibility of COVID-19 returning to China in January itself. Chinese Health Department spokesperson Mi Feng said at a press conference that the number of flu patients arriving at hospitals across China is decreasing. The number of flu cases in the country has started to decrease, but the number of asymptomatic COVID cases is increasing.

Experts believe that various respiratory diseases will increase in China this winter and the coming spring. Foreign media reports that influenza viruses have dominated China in a very short time. Wang Dayan, director of the National Influenza Center, said the holiday and gatherings of people could contribute to the spread of the disease.

Timely health consultation and guidance should be provided to the elderly, pregnant women, children and those with chronic diseases. Wang said that more medical services will be ensured and efforts will be made to deliver medicines and other supplies.
