Sabarimala saves KSRTC; revenue of 38 crores during Mandala - Makaravilak season

PAMBA: KSRTC received an income of 38.88 crores through the services provided as part of the Sabarimala Mandala Makaravilak season this year. A total of 1,37,000 chain services and 34,000 long-distance services have been operated on the Pampa-Nilakkal route since the beginning of the Mandala period. A total of 64.25 lakh people travelled through KSRTC.

On January 15th, Ayyappa devotees returning after visiting Makarjyoti were provided with chain services from 7:00 pm to 3:30 am on January 16th continuously on the Pampa - Nilakkal route. Long-distance services to places like Chengannur, Kottayam, Kumily, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur were also conducted.

KSRTC Pampa Special Officer informed that there will be chain services till the night of January 20 when Sabarimala nada closes and long-distance services till 4 am on January 21.
