NEW DELHI: A chartered flight which was flying to Moscow from India crashed in the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan on Saturday night. The accident took place in the Topkhana mountains of Badakhshan province in Afghanistan. Afghanistan media reported that it was an Indian passenger airline that crashed, thereby evoking serious concern, but the central aviation ministry denied the claim completely.

The DGCA said that the aircraft, a French-made Dassault Falcon 10 jet was registered in Morocco. The crash happened overnight in one of Afghanistan's isolated mountain ranges. It is also rumoured that the chartered flight was heading in the wrong direction. There were six people on board at the time of the accident.

At the same time, the Russian Aviation Ministry says that it lost contact with the Russian plane carrying six passengers over Afghanistan late yesterday evening. The police are yet to confirm the identity of causalities in the flight.
