Auto driver hacked to death in Kozhikode, dead is murder accused, say police

KOZHIKODE: An auto driver was hacked to death in the district. The dead has been identified as Srikanth (47) of Gandhinagar. The incident happened on Panicker’s Road Sunday morning. The police clarified that Srikanth, who was killed, was an accused in a murder case at Elathur station registered in 2013. The police said that he is an accused in many cases including the murder case of Prabhu Raj of Kunduparamba.

The police have taken one into custody and is interrogating him. The Vellayil police have registered a case and has started investigation. There were two more people in the auto apart from Srikanth. They were drunk and police believe that one of them may have committed the murder. One in the auto was taken into custody. He is being grilled. The police have intensified search for the other person.

A youth was stabbed to death in Kochi Sunday morning. The incident happened in Palarivattom. The dead is Maneesh of AKG Colony in Thammanam. Ajith, seriously injured in the clash, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
