Honeytrap team threaten to ruin life of 59-year-old man, captures nude pics, held

KASARGOD: A honeytrap gang have been arrested for extorting money from a 59-year-old man. The Malaparambu police arrested seven people including a couple in the incident of extorting Rs 5 lakh from the man after threatening and capturing nude pictures after bringing the native of Mangad to Mangalore. The arrested are Dilshad, Siddique, Lubna, Faizal and three unidentified people.

The 59-year-old man said that he gave Rs 5 lakh to the team following threat and complained to the police when they demanded more money. Lubna after maintaining a relationship with the complainant through phone reached Mangalore with him on January 25 under the pretense of buying a laptop. She then took him to a hotel room and captured nude pictures.

The complaint mentioned that Lubna started threatening him saying that she would send the nude pictures to his family. He said that if he does not comply, Lubna threatened to take him to a house in Padannakkad and file a complaint with the police saying that he had raped her and would ruin his life. The police found that the woman and her team had received Rs 10,000 through Google Pay and Rs 4,90,000 in cash from the complainant.
