VALLETTA: Not only a passport is needed for Indians to travel to another country, visas are also required. Some countries have informed that Indians don’t need a visa, but if they are going to other countries of the world for work or visit, their visa is mandatory. However, there is a passport that does not require a visa to travel to any country. That is the passport of the Order of Malta. Holders of this passport can travel to most countries in the world without a visa.
These passports are issued to 500 members of the sovereign nation known as the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (Knights of Malta). Catholic philanthropists who receive this world's rarest passport do not use it for their own purposes. This organization was started in Jerusalem over 1000 years ago. From there they later moved to Malta. Centuries later, in the 1300s, the Order of Malta issued their first passports. This passport was accepted by 112 countries at that time. The Order of Malta is stronger than the passports of countries like India, China and Thailand. These are used only to help people around the world.
This passport has a bright red color which represents the blood of Christ. Its letters are written in gold color. Their emblem is accompanied by the inscription "Ordre Souverain Militaire de Malta". Its duration is about a decade. The tenure of members of the organization is up to 85 years. Until then these passports will be renewed. These have no extra embellishments like images or quotes.
