‘Love Jihad is there in Kerala, has happened to my friends’; just one night needed to change everything, says Padmaja

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is love jihad in Kerala and some of my friends’ children are victims of it, said Padmaja Venugopal, BJP leader and daughter of former chief minister K Karunakaran. She said that she has not received any confirmation on love jihad. However, many are saying that it is happening, Padmaja told the media.

‘Many parents come to me and say there is love jihad. They say that their daughters were brainwashed. There should be an investigation to know whether love jihad is right or wrong. Today's generation has many things to learn and not whether it is there or not. When news spreads that there is such a thing, it is good to give the message to the children about it. They will then understand what is right and what is wrong.' Padmaja's response was in the wake of the screening of ‘The Kerala Story’ film in many places of Kerala.

Padmaja said that she is sure that children of former chief ministers will join the BJP and that she had worked for the Congress till the previous day and decided to join the BJP overnight. She clarified that one night is enough to change things. Padmaja said minorities are now coming closer to the BJP and the party will get their support including in Thrissur constituency.

Meantime, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan came forward with strong criticism against the film. He said that Kerala Story is a film with political intent and asked where in Kerala such a thing would happen.

‘Hitler had earlier said that minorities and communists are internal enemies. The RSS copied it as is. The name has only changed and the text is the same. If Jews are there, the dominants in minorities are Muslims and Christians. The RSS has also taken a stand to find a solution to this internal problem. They said they would take the German way. We all know what Germany did. What a great carnage was there. At each stage they will turn against different groups of people. Each group will try to turn against the other group to see if they can achieve their goals. Don't fall into that trap. Don't become part of the Sangh Parivar agenda,' said the chief minister.
