Karthik Subbaraj to direct Vijay's swansong film

Actor Vijay settled all matters for good with his timely announcement of creating a political outfit and his deep desire to enter politics for the welfare of people in Tamil Nadu. However, this is not an idyllic time for his hardcore fan base, who will hereafter miss the gala and the rhythm experienced in theatres during Vijay movie releases. Actor Vijay confirmed that the 69th film in his career will be the last in his acting career.

Vijay has decided not to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and will contest the 2026 assembly elections. Vijay also stated that his party will eliminate the prevailing situation of caste, religion and corruption.

On Saturday, Vijay conducted a meeting with his party bearers at his residence. Vijay is currently acting in 'The Greatest of All Time' (GOAT) directed by Venkat Prabhu. However, his next movie tentatively named ‘Thalapathi 69’ is more anticipated by fans, as it will be the actor's final dance in the reel world which he graced for the past 32 years.

As per reports, it is learned that Vijay’s swansong will be directed by Karthik Subbaraj under Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures. S J Suryah will appear as an antagonist while the music will be tuned by Santhosh Narayanan. The project is expected to be announced soon after Vijay completes his current work with Venkat Prabhu.
