THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister KN Balagopal, during the budget presentation, emphasized the enhancement of academic standards in schools. He announced plans to upgrade one school in each district as a model school. A performance-based grading system will be implemented, with teachers receiving residential training every six months. Evaluation of DD, DEO, AEO and teachers in the Public Education Department is planned. One crore rupees has been allocated to prepare the next generation for challenges including AI technology and deep fake.

- 10 crores to the CH Muhammad Koya Institute, which works for the mentally challenged
- 13 crores for the Vocational Higher Secondary sector
- 21 crores for SCERT
- A total of Rs 382.14 crores for the mid-day meal scheme.
