King Charles diagnosed with cancer, postpones public programmes, says Buckingham Palace

LONDON: Britain’s King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer. This was clarified in a statement released by the Buckingham Palace. The statement said all his public programmes have been postponed following treatment.

75-year-old Charles had sought treatment last month after undergoing a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate when a separate issue of concern was noted. Tests confirmed a form of cancer. The statement said all public programmes are being postponed as part of treatment but official paper works will continue.

The statement also said that he remains positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible. King Charles chose to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and, in the hope, it may assist public understand for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.


The palace has not released any specific information about the type of cancer that King Charles is suffering from. Official sources clarified that no further information is being shared at this stage, but it is not prostate cancer.


British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has wished for a speedy recovery for King Charles. Rishi Sunak tweeted, wishing him a speedy recovery and no doubt he will come back to life strong soon.
