She tried to sell land not for cancer patient, but to bribe her party: Nandakumar levels serious allegations against Sobha

KOCHI: Broker TG Nandakumar has made more claims against Sobha Surendran, NDA candidate in Alappuzha, in a press conference held here. TG Nandakumar said that he was told to sell the land that Sobha Surendran had illegally occupied and there was a problem with the land records. He also clarified that there is no information about this land in the information given to the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Nandakumar stated that he had sent several letters and asked Sobha to return the Rs 10 lakh paid as advance for the land, but she did not respond and he is now revealing everything because of this. "When I asked Sobha to return the money, she said that she would give it from the election fund. But I did not get even that," he said.

Sobha Surandran on Wednesday responded to Nandakumar's allegation that she hasn't returned the money and said that she took Rs 10 lakh from the broker as an advance for her land and despite calling him four times, Nandakumar was not ready to register and buy it. Sobha had also said that she decided to sell the land for the treatment of her sister's husband who was suffering from cancer. But Nandanakumar replied that she did not try to sell the land for the cancer patient.

"Sobha told me that she needs a position to hold on to the party. She said that after paying Rs 1 crore to Pondicherry CM, she will be appointed as the Pondicherry LG (lieutenant governor). Sobha claimed she has Rs 80 lakh and needs Rs 20 lakh as advance for land. But I said I will give 10 lakhs and gave it.There was no cancer patient back then," Nandakumar claimed.
