Shaija Andavan who hailed Godse to be grilled, NIT explains she is on leave

KOZHIKODE: The Kunnamangalam police will issue a notice to NIT professor Shaija Andavan, who hailed Nathuram Godse on Mahatma Gandhi's Martyr's Day, to appear for interrogation. The NIT registrar had handed over the details including the teacher's address to the police the other day.

The police will summon Shaija Andavan to inquire about the authenticity of the Facebook post and the circumstances to post the critical comment. The police are also collecting the details of others who commented to the post. Meantime, the NIT authorities explained that Shaija Andavan is on leave.

Andavan had commented ‘Proud of Godse for saving India'. With this, harsh criticism was raised against the teacher. Shaija Andavan is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT.
