KANSAS CITY: One person was killed and 21 injured in a shooting in the USA. Multiple children were injured in the attack. The shooting occurred during the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory rally in Kansas City on Wednesday. 12 people up to 17 years of age were admitted to Children's Mercy Hospital and 11 of them are small children.
There are nine bullet victims among those injured and admitted to the hospital. The police have informed that three people have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. The police said the motive and circumstances behind the shooting are under investigation. Kansas City Fire Department Chief Ross Grundyson said at a press conference that the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
The attackers opened fire at the crowd. After that, the people scattered and moved to safer places. The medical team reached the spot and provided treatment to those who needed it on the spot. The assailants opened fire on the event attended by VIPs including Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas.
