Got scared when he came alone, day care people knew only when we informed, will not send him again, says father

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sudheesh, father of the two-year-old child, who reached home alone from the day care, came forward responding to the incident. He told a media that when his son came alone, he was scared and didn’t know what to do.

He said that he and his wife had gone to attend a wedding. When he reached home, only my mother was there. He said that he immediately contacted the day care and informed them about it. They knew about it only when we called. He said the authorities said that action will be taken against those responsible.

The child came through an area where there are many stray dogs. Sudheesh said that nothing happened due to God's grace. A complaint has been lodged with ChildLine and the police. The family have decided not to send the child to the day care anymore.

The incident happened Monday afternoon at Kakkamoola in Nemom. The CCTV visuals of Sudheesh's two-year-old son Ankit running home in fear and crying, have surfaced. The toddler reached home after walking alone for two kilometers.
