THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 15th Legislature holds the record for the highest number of adjournment motion notices discussed. Seven adjournment motions have been discussed by the House in the meetings so far. A total of 6 adjournment motions were discussed during the five years of the 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly. Since the 1st Kerala Legislative Assembly, 37 adjournment motions have been discussed in total. One-third of them are in the 14th and 15th assembly sessions.
The assembly adjourned for an indefinite period after completing the 10th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly. The Appropriation Bills were passed after completing the discussion on the final appropriations requests and vote on account for the 2023-24 budget. The meeting lasted 11 days. Three bills were passed.
The House adjourned and discussed the adjournment motion notice related to the financial crisis in the state. Answers are available for 270-starred questions and 3243 unstarred questions. Speaker A.N. Shamseer informed that two resolutions were unanimously passed by the House.
The House approved the report submitted by the Ad Hoc Committee constituted to make timely reforms in the rules related to the procedure and administration of the Kerala Legislature. The Speaker said that with this coming into force, the assembly rules will become more dynamic.
