Stray dog jumps in front of scooter; differently-abled woman dies in accident

KANNUR: A differently-abled woman died after her scooter went out of control and overturned after a stray dog jumped in front of the scooter. The deceased has been identified as Kannur Kottiyoor native MM Ramani. The incident happened in Iritty on Thursday morning.

Ramani was an employee of a courier company in Kotiyoor. She came to Iritty to take the scooter after servicing. The accident took place on the Haji Road - Ayyappankavu road while she was on the way back after the service.

The stray dog unexpectedly jumped in front of Ramani's scooter. Following this, the scooter went out of control and overturned. As Ramani fell from the scooter, her head hit the nearby stone. Although the locals immediately rushed her to the hospital, she could not be saved. The body has been shifted to the Pariyaram Medical College for post-mortem.
