BENGALURU: Veena Vijayan, the daughter of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has received a setback in the monthly quota case. The Karnataka High Court on Friday rejected the plea filed by Veena's Exalogic Solutions challenging the probe by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) against the company. The bench headed by Justice Nagaprasanna said that SFIO can continue with its probe. Details of the verdict will be released tomorrow.
The Registrar of Companies had conducted an investigation under Section 210 of the Companies Act and submitted a report. In its petition, Exalogic Solutions pointed out that it had fully cooperated with the investigation. It also stated that the investigation by the SFIO under Section 212 of the same Act was illegal.
Exalogic Solutions filed the petition in the High Court amid reports that the SFIO will interrogate Veena in the monthly quota issue. The company approached the Karnataka High Court because Exalogic is headquartered in Bengaluru.
