THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Muhammad Khan accused the Students' Federation of India (SFI) and the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI) of joining forces in recent protests against him. Speaking near the AKG Center, he alleged a SFI-Popular Front alliance asserting that seven of those arrested during protests were PFI workers. The Governor further criticized the government claiming support for individuals associated with the banned organization.
Yesterday, black flag protests against the Governor occurred near the General Hospital and the AKG Center along the route from the airport to the Raj Bhavan. Police arrested 14 SFI members for obstructing traffic and hindering police operations—eight near the AKG Center and six near the General Hospital. SFI district president Nandana was also taken into custody.
