'KC Venugopal and his ilk now ruling Congress'; Kamal Nath expresses displeasure

NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath is currently in Delhi as rumours continue about the congress veteran's possible switch to BJP. Kamal Nath’s frustration turned palpable as he was removed from the PCC chairman post without any prior notice. Nath was also refused a Rajya Sabha seat by the Congress leadership which added to the worries.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath arrived in Delhi on Saturday. Coincidentally, Nath’s visit to Delhi crossed paths with the two-day National Council of the BJP. All senior BJP leaders in the country are participating in the National Council.

Kamal Nath won from Chhindwara a record nine times in his political career. As per close sources, even people of Chhindawara have now approved Kamal Nath’s purported switch to BJP. Amidst the strong rumours, Kamal Nath has not yet handed over his resignation to Congress. It is reported that Kamal Nath has directly informed the party leadership about his displeasure with the current working mode of the party.

“Rahul Gandhi is busy with Bharat Jodo Yatra. The party is now under the command of senior leaders like Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala.” Closes sources to Kamal Nath said to media.

Meanwhile, the Congress dismissed rumours that Kamal Nath would leave the party.

“While attending the campaign works of Kamal Nath back in 1979, Indira Gandhi described Kamal Nath as her third son. Can Indira Gandhi's third son even dream of leaving the Congress?” congress sources opined.

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari said Kamal Nath would never betray the party workers who helped him to become the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.
