Kodumon Potty supremacy in Australia; Overseas distributors in shock

Mammootty film Bramayugam is currently the talk of the town. The movie which was released in a busy February week, not only survived the scare of getting overshadowed by a super hit ‘Premalu’ but is now on a prolific run to become the winner among the two.

Bramayugam's success is not just restricted to Kerala. If reports are to be believed, the movie is turning into a phenomenon in Australia too. Hitherto, no Malayalam movies have made great business in the Australian and New Zealand markets. But now, departing from the usual pattern, Bramayugam is running houseful in most centres across the Oceania region leaving many overseas distributors in awe.

The film is showing in around fifty theatres in Australia and seventeen theatres in New Zealand. Seeing the crowd, many Malayali organizers and associations settled in Australia and New Zealand are now supporting the movie.

According to Mammootty fans, Malayali movements in Australia such as Fly World International based in Melbourne, Gold Coast Knights based in Queensland, Print and Sign based in Canberra, Hobart Malayali Association in Tasmania, Darwin Malayali Association in Darwin, Perth United Malayali Association in Perth, and Metro Malayalam based in Sydney have played a big role in the promotion of the movie. Welfare Association International Australia President Madanan Chellappan said.

Adulation is not anything new for Megastar Mammooty. However, Bramayugam’s success made it merrier as the movie was not any mundane entertainer but a dark noir genre that has never been crowd pullers. The movie is running packed in Kerala while many critics have already placed a bet about the next best actor national ward coming to Kerala.
