Two students killed after bike collides with KSRTC bus

KOLLAM: In a tragic incident, two students died after a bike collided with a KSRTC bus. The deceased are Aalsen S Varghese, son of Anchukallummoodu native G Saji, and Alan Xavier, son of Vadakkumbhagam native Xavier. The accident took place on the road leading to Shankar's Hospital near Asramam District Industrial Center at around 3 pm yesterday. Both were Plus Two students of a private school in Kollam.

After the Higher Secondary Model Examination, the two went to attend a friend's birthday party on Alan's brother's bike. While returning to Asramam, their bike collided with the KSRTC Tenkasi Fast passenger bus. The bus veered to the left and hit a nearby post. Both were trapped under the bus. Aalsen died on the spot. Alan was rushed to a private hospital in Kollam with serious injuries. However, could not be saved. Alan was riding the bike. The police said that the accident was due to the excessive speed of the bike.

Aalsen's mother is Betsy. He has a brother named Besant S Varghese. Alan's mother is Sheeja. Brother- Akhil Xavier. The Kollam East Police have registered a case into the accident.
