UK Couple win jackpot of Rs 648 crore while celebrating 30th wedding anniversary

LONDON: One cannot describe the happiness when unexpected luck comes your way. UK couple Richard and Debbie Nuttall are on cloud nine after winning a staggering amount of money. The couple while celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary learned that they have won a jackpot of Rs 648 crore ie 72,274,808 pounds.

EuroMillions Lottery was conducted on January 30. The couple learned about their good fortune via an email while they were celebrating their wedding anniversary on the island of Fuerteventura. In an interview with The Mirror, Richard told the world about receiving the prize.

Richard said, ‘It was the second day of our holiday. Got up early to do some pending work. I noticed an email from The National Lottery saying that good news is awaiting you. So, checked my National Lottery account and saw that the balance had gone up.’

Richard said that he shut down his laptop, had breakfast and went around the island with his wife. They enjoyed the sea views and windsurfers before heading back. They decided to search for a proper mobile signal to confirm that they had won the jackpot. They couldn’t login into the national lottery’s number due to poor mobile signals. Later the news of winning the jackpot was confirmed with the help of his daughter. The couple flew back home and they are planning how to spend this huge amount. They want to buy a new home and are planning a vacation in their favorite destination, Portugal.
