Bruises found on Siddharth's body, says post-mortem report

VYTHIRI: The post-mortem report of Siddharth, a student of the Pookode Veterinary University who committed suicide last week, has come out. According to the report, there were bruises on Siddharth's body and he had been beaten up before death. Bruises were found on his chest and legs.

Siddharth, a second-year student, was found hanging in the bathroom of the hostel on February 18. Siddharth had been brutally beaten up by a group of students. He was found dead shortly after this.

Police have launched an investigation under the leadership of Kalpetta DySP Sajeev. The investigation team headed by DySP visited Siddharth's house in Nedumangad yesterday and recorded the statements of the family members. 12 students have been named as accused in the incident. The investigating officer said that these students would be taken into custody and questioned. KSU will march to the college today at 11 am to protest Siddharth's death.
