THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, is currently visiting the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). ISRO chairman S Somanath is explaining details related to the Gaganyaan project to the Prime Minister. Somanath also introduced the scientists of VSSC to the Prime Minister. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Union Minister of State V. Muraleedharan are accompanying Modi.
The Prime Minister will soon announce the names of the four astronauts participating in India's proudest project, the Gaganyaan mission. As part of this, all four astronauts have arrived at VSSC. It is reported that there is a Malayali in the group.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the new facilities worth Rs 1800 crores set up for the Gaganyaan project in Thiruvananthapuram, Mahendragiri in Tamil Nadu and Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Following this, he will go to Central Stadium. The Prime Minister will participate in the meeting held there as part of the concluding ceremony of the Kerala Yatra led by BJP state president K. Surendran.
After completing his programs in Thiruvananthapuram, Modi will leave for Coimbatore today afternoon. He will then address the BJP general meeting in Tirupur at 2:45 pm. Modi will take a helicopter to Madurai at 4 pm and attend a programme related to small and medium industries. After staying in Madurai tonight, he will attend programs in Tuticorin and Tirunelveli tomorrow. Modi is visiting Tamil Nadu for the third time this year.
