THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance Court here has admitted Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA's plea seeking a probe against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena Vijayan and CMRL company. The court has asked the director of vigilance to submit a report on March 14.
Mathew Kuzhalnadan filed a plea in the court citing various incidents against the Chief Minister and his daughter. In the petition, he has pointed out corruption such as giving illegal permission for mining in Alappuzha's Thottapally and concession in land purchase for CMRL.
The main allegation is that the Chief Minister has taken direct steps to help the private company before KMML, a public sector company. The petition also alleges that in return for this, a monthly fee was paid to Veena Vijayan's Exalogic company. Government counsel objected to the admission of the petition on file.
Mathew Kuzhalnadan had made an allegation against Pinarayi Vijayan in a press conference on the black sand mining issue in Thottapally. He alleged that the Chief Minister intervened for the CMRL company and provided black sand at a paltry price to make huge profits. "Black sand worth Rs 40,000 crore has been mined. The state suffered a huge loss in this way. Neither the government nor the party responded to the CMRL allegations. The Minister of Industry replied only in one line. The Chief Minister is behind all this. He should be ready to take responsibility without leaving his daughter to be torn apart in public and if Veena Vijayan is responsible for this, he should also be ready to speak openly", Mathew said.
