Sri Lankan citizen arrested in drug case flees from court, police intensify search

THRISSUR: An accused brought from Viyyur Central Jail to Thrissur First Class Magistrate Court, fled from police custody. Ajit Kishant Perera, a Sri Lankan national, arrested by the Ernakulam Coastal Police in a drug case, escaped from the hands of the police. He was shifted from Ernakulam District Jail to Viyyur.


Perera was taken to the court today in the case of finding a banned item from him in the Central Jail. He was wearing a white T-shirt when he escaped. Police have intensified search for him.
