Indian Kuchipudi dancer Amarnath Ghosh shot dead in US

WASHINGTON: Indian classical dancer Amarnath Ghosh was shot dead in St. Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday. Amarnath Ghosh's friend and Indian television actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee released the death news through her X Page on Friday.

“My friend #Amarnathghosh was shot & killed in St Louis academy neighbourhood, US on Tuesday evening. The only child in the family, the mother died 3 years back. Father passed away during his childhood.

Well the reason, the accused details everything is not revealed yet or perhaps no one left in his family to fight for it except his few friends. He was from Kolkata. Excellent dancer, was pursuing PhD, and was taking an evening walk when suddenly he was shot multiple times by an unknown.

Some friends in the US are trying to claim the body but still no update about it.” Devoleena wrote.

Ghosh nursed his talent from Kalakshetra Academy in Chennai and soon made it into the annals to become an exponent in the art of Kuchipudi.

As per details, some Indian communities in the US are trying to make arrangements for the body to be sent to his homeland but are facing difficulties. They have now sought intervention from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the External Affairs Minister to solve this matter.
