MUMBAI: Budget airline IndiGo has announced a new flight service for expatriate passengers. The new service has been announced for the UK as part of its expansion of international services. The service, which will operate three days a week, will fly from Mumbai to the UK city of Manchester. IndiGo will operate the Manchester service using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The service is in collaboration with Norse Atlantic Airways. IndiGo Airlines said that the service is being launched as part of its foray into new areas. The aircraft will have 56 IndiGo stretch seats and 283 economy seats. Meals will be included in the ticket price. The service will operate from India to the UK on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The flight will depart from Mumbai at 4.25 am and arrive in Manchester at 10.05 am UK time. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, it will depart from Manchester at 12.05 pm and arrive in Mumbai at 1.55 pm the next day. IndiGo spokespersons said that they hope the service will be beneficial for business professionals, students and tourists. IndiGo will operate the service using aircraft leased from North Atlantic.
