GURUVAYUR: The Kerala government has promised treatment of a two-year-old boy whose mother was allegedly insulted by Suresh Gopi at Guruvayur temple. The actor-turned-politician was accused of scoffing at the mother and asking her to see Govindan Master for medical help. Health Minister Veena George said that the health department will also provide expensive drugs for rare diseases.
When Suresh Gopi came to Guruvayoor, Sindhu, the said woman who is a Malayali from Coimbatore, went to seek help with his son Ashwin. Sindhu said that Ashwin is undergoing treatment for a rare disease called mastocytosis.
There is an expense of Rs 50,000 for one month's medicine alone. "Suresh Gopi told me to meet Govindan Master. I used to regularly watch the 'Kodeeswaran' show on TV and that's why I sought help," Sindhu said.
Unable to understand who Suresh Gopi meant, Sindhu inquired from those present at the temple food donation area to find out who he was. Sindhu is unable to go to work due to her son's illness. The treatment of the child is being taken care of with the help of kind-hearted people.
