Surge of Rs 560 at one go, gold price at all-time record high  

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The gold price surged to an all-time high. There was an increase of Rs 560 for 22 carat gold today alone. With this, a sovereign now costs Rs 47,560. The price per gram is Rs 5945.

The price of gold has been on an upward trend since the beginning of this month. The price for a sovereign on March 1 was Rs 46,320 and on March 2, it was Rs 47,000. The price then remained unchanged. The highest price of gold was recorded on February 2. It was traded at Rs 46,640 on that day.
