Movie analysts were prophetic when they guessed Malayalam cinema’s latest crowd-puller ‘Manjummel Boys’ would reach Rs 100 crore collection in a canter. On Tuesday ‘Manjummel Boys’ became the fastest movie to reach the 100-crore mark in Mollywood. With this achievement, ‘Manjummel Boys’ will become the fourth movie to reach the 100 core hallmark in Mollywood.
Actor Soubin Shahir who produced the movie has finally revealed the news through his Facebook page. ‘Pulimurugan’, ‘Lucifer’ and ‘2018’ were the only films to earn 100 crores globally in Malayalam. ‘Manjummel Boys’ achieved this feat in just 12 days.
Girish AD's ‘Premalu’, which is in the theatres along with Manjummal Boys, is also racing towards 100 crores.
‘Manjummel Boys’ which got a decent opening in Kerala quickly metamorphosed into a rave only after iconic actor Kamal Haasan visited all the crew members to congratulate their efforts. This single meet-up resulted in the movie spreading like wildfire in Tamil Nadu. Tamil audiences are now flocking to watch Manjummel Boys while social media is also abuzz with the influence the movie created on the neighbouring state. The film collected Rs 4.82 crore from Tamil Nadu alone on Sunday.
